Our founder worked and studied at some of the most prestigious universities and law firms in the UK and Turkey. Starting her own law practice came from a desire for a more personalized approach and closer relationships with the clients. Duygu is a Turkish qualified lawyer who was admitted into Izmir Bar Association in 2010. She completed her law degree at Bilkent University Law Faculty in 2008 and then completed her one year traineeship at Izmir Bar Association. Upon the completion of her traineeship, she moved to the UK to do her LLM in European and International Commercial Law at Brunel University.
After being awarded with the LLM degree, she started to work for a Turkish law firm in London and assisted foreign clients and firms in several aspects of Turkish Law such as Property law, Commercial law, Inheritance law, Family law. There, Duygu conducted number of on-going court cases in Turkey and dealing with all aspects, obtaining favourable outcomes on behalf of all her clients. She also excelled in solving legal disputes out of the court by negotiating with counter parties of files.
She is an expert in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements. She is experienced in preparing legal reports in multiple areas of Turkish Law for foreign clients including solicitors firms in the UK.
Duygu recently received her "Certificate of Eligibility" from Solicitor Regular Authority which enables her to take QLTS-2 international exams and is currently working towards her UK qualifications.
Considering the recent rise of Turkish economy in today's world, Duygu and her business partner believe they will make a valuable contribution to the development of new businesses between businessmen in the UK and Turkey by assisting them with D&D's wide range of consultancy services.
D&D Legal has established a solution partnership with Izmir based Tokgoz Law Firm so as to save time and effort on cross border matters.
